About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern works with the store manager to understand the retail business and develop management skills. You will focus on providing a positive shopping experience for guests while gaining hands-on experience in sales, merchandising, and operations. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Lubbock, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Complete sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking results.
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, merchandise displays, and register procedures.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Point of Sale procedures.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete required internship assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
