About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern supports our mission to provide an enjoyable shopping experience for every guest. You will work alongside the store manager to learn how our retail business operates and develop fundamental management skills. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Lincoln, Nebraska, with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks including cashiering, merchandise displays, and inventory pulls.
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering teammate orientation, leadership, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring.
- Manage a designated product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking results.
- Handle register procedures, including opening and closing, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete all required internship assignments.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management from a four-year college or university.
- You have an interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- You are able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- No prior experience or training is necessary.
