About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on learning the retail business from the ground up. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand how Buckle operates while gaining hands-on experience in leadership, merchandising, and sales. This role is designed for students interested in a long-term commitment with the company.
What you'll do#
- Complete key sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering orientation, leadership, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking your own results.
- Lead and motivate the team by using Performance Tracker tools to monitor progress in areas like denim, accessories, or activewear.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Perform daily sales and operational tasks such as cashiering, register procedures, merchandise display, and facility cleaning.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and take ownership of assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- No prior retail experience or training is required.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
