About the role#
This internship provides an inside look at retail management. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand how the business functions and what is required to lead a team. The role focuses on developing your recruiting, merchandising, and leadership skills while contributing to the store mission of creating a positive shopping experience for guests.
What you'll do#
- Complete the Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking results.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, merchandise displays, and register procedures.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and take ownership of assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year college or university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes mornings, evenings, and weekends.
