About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position at The Buckle focuses on creating a positive shopping experience for guests while gaining direct exposure to retail management. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand how our business operates and what is required to succeed in a leadership role. This is a paid, on-site internship that offers a look into the retail industry through hands-on experience.
What you'll do#
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating your teammates, and tracking your results.
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, merchandise display, and facility maintenance.
- Complete key sections of the management manual covering Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Lead and motivate the store team by utilizing the Performance Tracker tool.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with The Buckle.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes mornings, evenings, and weekends.
