About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on learning the retail business from the ground up. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand daily operations and management responsibilities. This role is designed for students interested in developing leadership, recruiting, and merchandising skills within a retail environment.
What you'll do#
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking your own results.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance through the Performance Tracker tool.
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering and register procedures.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Actively participate in monthly conference calls.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
