About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with the store manager to learn the fundamentals of retail operations and management at The Buckle. This role focuses on developing your leadership, recruiting, and merchandising skills while you contribute to the overall guest experience. You will gain hands-on experience by managing a specific product category and tracking your performance results.
What you'll do#
- Complete key sections of the management manual covering orientation, leadership, recruiting, and hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating your teammates, and tracking progress.
- Lead and motivate the team using performance tracking tools for various departments like denim, accessories, or activewear.
- Handle daily operational tasks such as opening and closing registers, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Area and District Managers.
- Assist guests with product selection, fitting, and purchases to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year degree program, specifically in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs in the store and backroom.
- No prior retail experience or training is required for this position.

- Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
