About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on supporting our store mission to create an enjoyable shopping experience for our guests. You will work closely with the Store Manager to learn the fundamentals of retail operations and management. This is a paid, on-site internship based in San Marcos, Texas, with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks including cashiering, display setup, and facility maintenance.
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering orientation, leadership, recruiting, and hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking your performance results.
- Provide weekly progress updates and reports to the Area and District Managers.
- Develop core skills in recruiting, merchandising, and team leadership.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete required internship assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- No prior retail experience or training is required.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
