About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern with The Buckle, you will work directly with the Store Manager to learn the fundamentals of retail operations and leadership. This role focuses on creating a positive shopping experience for guests while developing your skills in recruiting, merchandising, and team management. You will gain hands-on experience by taking ownership of specific store projects and product categories.
What you'll do#
- Complete key sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering orientation, leadership, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating the team, and tracking your results.
- Use the Performance Tracker to lead and motivate the team toward department goals.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Handle daily store operations, including cashiering, merchandise displays, and maintaining a clean, organized sales floor.
- Participate in monthly conference calls to discuss business performance and strategy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university, specifically in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
