About the role#
As an Investment Planning Co-Op Engineer, you will work with experienced professionals on projects that support the planning, operation, and modernization of the electric grid. This role offers hands-on experience in both technical and financial aspects of power systems. You will contribute to initiatives that drive the energy transition while building your professional network.
What you'll do#
- Support engineers on infrastructure projects to design future distribution and transmission power systems.
- Develop solutions to gather, store, and use electrical asset data.
- Build and maintain electrical models using software such as PSSE and CYME.
- Create scope of work documents, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Collaborate with finance teams to build project business cases and manage budgets for transmission and distribution investment programs.
- Validate financial data for annual budget reviews.
- Use Management of Change and Asset Governance processes.
- Participate in root cause analyses for equipment failures.
- Support the development of Asset Life Cycle Plans.
- Visit substations to verify electric facilities through field research.
- Identify ways to improve company processes for the future of the energy sector.
- Participate in company learning opportunities and networking events.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Interest in the planning, operation, and modernization of the electric grid.
- Ability to work in an Agile, collaborative environment.
