About the role#
This summer internship supports our Materials service line. You will work alongside experienced engineering professionals and use industry technology. Each intern is assigned a mentor to assist with career planning and technical skill development. You will participate in a cohort with other interns to build your professional network, concluding with a summit to meet company leaders. This role is full-time and on-site.
What you'll do#
- Learn site safety and safe work practices.
- Perform sampling or testing as directed.
- Assist field and laboratory personnel with routine tasks.
- Transport equipment, specimens, or documents to field sites and offices.
- Provide physical assistance in equipment set-up.
- Write proposals and manage change orders.
- Prepare reports and communicate test results to clients.
- Learn about laboratory organization, scheduling, and efficiency.
- Gain understanding of test procedures like ASTM, DOT, and COE.
- Learn about quality management systems and procedures.
- Execute projects safely, accurately, and profitably.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma.
- Current pursuit of a BS or Master's degree in civil or construction engineering. Students with less than one year remaining in their BS degree are preferred.
- Interest in consulting and fieldwork.
- Demonstrated curiosity and teamwork.
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history may be required.

- Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
