About the role#
Terracon is offering a Summer 2027 internship for students interested in Industrial Hygiene and Environmental consulting. You will work alongside professional staff to gain technical experience, participate in a company-wide intern cohort, and present project findings to executive leadership. You will be assigned a mentor to assist with your technical skill development and career planning. Before starting, you will complete a paid 40-hour safety training course provided by the company.
What you'll do#
- Perform sample collection and assist professional staff with routine tasks.
- Learn and apply industrial hygiene sampling procedures.
- Gain experience with field testing, inspections, and general field work capabilities.
- Practice field safety and follow established safe work practices.
- Prepare reports and assist office personnel as needed.
- Travel as required to support project sites.
- Take on progressively increased responsibilities throughout the summer.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma.
- Current enrollment in a BS degree program in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related science field.
- Less than one year remaining to complete your degree.

- This position is located in Raleigh, North Carolina.
- The role is on-site and part-time.
