About the role#
Terracon is seeking students for a Geotechnical Intern position in Bettendorf, Iowa. This role supports our geotechnical service line and offers hands-on experience in consulting and fieldwork. You will work alongside experienced professionals, receive mentorship for career and technical development, and participate in a national intern cohort. The program includes a final presentation to leadership regarding your experiences.
What you'll do#
- Perform sampling and testing tasks as directed.
- Assist field and laboratory personnel with routine assignments.
- Seek learning opportunities from your assigned mentor.
- Engage in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility.
- Learn about laboratory safety, soil test procedures, field exploration, data review, and project management.
- Prepare a final presentation for leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program for civil or construction engineering.
- A genuine interest in consulting and fieldwork.
- Demonstrated curiosity and a focus on teamwork.
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history may be required.
Location & details#
- Location: Bettendorf, IA.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May-August) or Fall 2027 (May-December Co-Op).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
