About the role#
As a Radiology Student Extern, you will work under the direct supervision of a registered imaging technologist. You will perform tasks related to imaging procedures that you have already learned in class and practiced during clinical rotations. This is a part-time, on-site role.
What you'll do#
- Assist technologists with imaging procedures and transport patients.
- Position patients for X-ray exams based on department protocols.
- Work with Radiologists to keep the department running smoothly.
- Document patient history regarding their illness or injury.
- Maintain the orderliness, cleanliness, and function of equipment and work areas.
- Follow all departmental policies, safety standards, and quality assurance programs.
What you'll need#
- You must be a full-time student in good standing at an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, or a recent graduate of an accredited program.
- A current BLS certification is required.
- Computer skills are preferred, as you will work with digital imaging software.
