About the role#
As a Nurse Extern in Obstetrics, you will support our patient care teams by providing basic and intermediate nursing care. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to ensure patients receive essential assistance and comfort. This role is a paid position designed for nursing students to build clinical skills in a hospital setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic and intermediate nursing care for an assigned group of patients.
- Offer essential assistance and comfort to patients to support their recovery.
- Complete all established nursing competencies required for the unit.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing.
- Completion of at least one semester of clinicals in an RN program.
- BLS certification from an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
- Ability to obtain Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification within 60 days of hire.
