About the role#
As a Cyber Security Engineer Intern, you will join the Tencent Overseas IT team. You will help maintain and improve security infrastructure while protecting the organization from cyber threats. This role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations across our engineering portfolio.
What you'll do#
- Support the operations and security of SaaS platforms and services.
- Contribute to identity and access management systems and integrations, including user authentication and authorization solutions.
- Assist with deployment pipelines, system reliability, monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
- Develop automation and tooling for operational tasks, and support incident response and system troubleshooting.
- Contribute to security operations and threat monitoring.
- Develop data ingestion, processing, and analytics systems, including working with data storage and real-time data flows at scale.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
- Experience with the Linux/Unix command line and shell scripting.
- Understanding of fundamental data structures, algorithms, system design, distributed systems, and microservices.
- Knowledge of networking basics like TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/HTTPS, as well as containerization concepts like Docker.
- Ability to read code, debug issues, and understand software architecture.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Preferred experience includes cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Kubernetes, databases, message queues, and infrastructure security.

- Compensation: $27.12 to $51.93 per hour.
