About the role#
Tenaska is hiring an Engineering Intern to join our team in Omaha. You will work within an interdisciplinary project team that includes environmental scientists, plant asset managers, and financial analysts. This role involves supporting energy projects like gas power, solar, wind, and battery storage. You will also help evaluate new energy technologies and potential acquisitions.
What you'll do#
- Support project development and provide project engineering support.
- Complete technical due diligence and technoeconomic assessments.
- Work closely with an engineering project manager or project engineer.
- Collaborate with internal team members and external consultants.
- Present and summarize your work task findings to coworkers and management.
- Travel as required for project needs.
What you'll need#
- Strong technical, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Preference for 3rd year students in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
- We will consider 2nd year students and other engineering disciplines.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
