About the role#
Tenaska is hiring a Software Engineering Intern for a year-round position in Omaha. You will work directly with experienced developers to build, maintain, and improve critical systems. This role involves using technologies like C#.NET, JavaScript, and Angular in an Agile and Kanban environment. Interns have the potential to transition into full-time Software Developer roles after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside developers and analysts to support mission-critical systems.
- Create and enhance interactive software for web and desktop platforms.
- Provide quality control throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Integrate your own ideas into active software solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a BS or MS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong grasp of programming concepts, including conditions and loops.
- Understanding of OOP principles and database operations.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work well within a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience developing web or Windows-based desktop applications is preferred.
- Ability to maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in Omaha, Nebraska.
- The schedule requires a minimum of 20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
