About the role#
The GDOT Legislative Affairs team acts as a liaison between the department, the Governor's Office, and various elected officials. As an intern, you will work directly with the Director of Policy and Government Affairs and the Government and Legislative Relations Specialist. This is a temporary, paid position based in Atlanta.
What you'll do#
- Manage the legislative inquiry system.
- Prepare briefings and internal documents.
- Track legislation as it moves through both chambers.
- Attend House and Senate committee meetings and Floor Sessions.
- Conduct research projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full or part-time student in a college or university.
- A 2.0 overall GPA or better.
- General knowledge of the Georgia legislative process.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to multi-task.
Location & details#
- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week.
- Pay: $20.00 per hour for lower-division undergraduates, $21.00 per hour for upper-division undergraduates, and $23.00 per hour for graduate students.
- Term: Rolling.
