About the role#
This paid, full-time internship is a 40-hour per week, hands-on training program designed to prepare you for store leadership. Over the course of the summer, you will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role. You will work closely with mentors and store managers to understand how the retail business functions while leading teams and driving store priorities.
What you'll do#
- Spend time on the salesfloor and in the backroom leading team members and aligning on daily business priorities.
- Work alongside your Executive Team Lead mentor to gain a deep understanding of their daily responsibilities.
- Plan daily goals and organize tasks to ensure the store runs smoothly.
- Address team member concerns, provide coaching, and deliver performance feedback.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by ensuring team members are knowledgeable and empowered to assist shoppers.
- Lead daily huddles and provide summaries of results to the leadership team.
- Review business reports and guest insights to identify and troubleshoot areas for improvement.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in retail management and team-oriented thinking.
- Effective communication skills and a welcoming, helpful attitude.
- The ability to manage your workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to climb ladders, operate handheld scanners, and lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Enrollment in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role for Summer 2027.
- Positions are available in Baton Rouge, Bossier City, Lafayette, Alexandria, Lake Charles, Monroe, and Shreveport, Louisiana, as well as Texarkana, Texas.
