About the role#
As a Test Station Design Co-op, you will join the test station and small pilots development team. You will work on the design, assembly, and commissioning of test rigs for various engineering projects. This is a hands-on role that requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support the development of carbon capture technologies.
What you'll do#
- Design, assemble, and commission test rigs and small pilot systems.
- Create and review Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Select appropriate instrumentation, equipment, and components.
- Perform engineering calculations, including heat transfer, flow rates, and gas composition.
- Develop bench tests and test plans to validate calculations.
- Troubleshoot test station start-up, shutdown, and operating performance issues.
- Produce engineering documentation, commissioning and testing materials, operation and maintenance manuals, and technical reports.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical tools.
- Interest in assembling, commissioning, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical test equipment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo for 3D mechanical design.
- Experience using AutoCAD for engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 - April 2027).
- Modality: On-site.

- Compensation: CAD $3,400 - $4,650 per month.
