About the role#
As a Manufacturing Controls Engineering Co-op, you will work with our high-volume manufacturing team to improve existing automation and controls systems. You will develop new features for manufacturing and assembly equipment and processes. We expect you to take ownership of assigned projects and drive them through to completion. You will also support production teams with equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and the resolution of technical issues.
What you'll do#
- Develop and improve PLC, HMI, SCADA, machine vision, and robot or cobot features.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and product design engineers to develop and improve manufacturing processes, equipment fixtures, controls cabinets, and automation solutions.
- Lead projects from concept through implementation.
- Maintain appropriate version control and technical documentation.
- Support production teams through equipment training, new feature rollouts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve equipment and controls issues to minimize production disruptions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong foundation in real-time mechatronics and control systems.
- Interest or experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, machine vision, or robotics.
- Programming experience in languages such as Structured Text, Ladder Logic, Python, C#, C++, or Java.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on, self-motivated, and proactive approach.
- Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.

- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 (January 2027 to August 2027).
- Modality: On-site.
