About the role#
We are seeking Project Engineer Interns for our Summer 2027 program. You will join our team to help manage and execute projects safely and effectively. This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Tampa, Florida. You will work on heavy civil and highway construction sites, which may involve exposure to outdoor conditions and loud environments.
What you'll do#
- Support the project management team with subcontractor and supplier coordination.
- Handle material tracking, file management, and document control, including submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Assist with progress reporting and learn project management functions like estimating, schedule planning, and project controls.
- Review and learn construction plans.
- Interact with clients, managers, and employees with professionalism.
- Travel between the project site and the corporate office as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Completion of at least one class in the semester or quarter immediately preceding the internship.
- Knowledge of route surveying and scheduling.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the assigned office.
