About the role#
As an HSE Intern, you will join our team to help manage and execute projects safely. This role balances field work and office tasks, with approximately 80% of your time spent on heavy civil and highway construction sites. You will gain hands-on experience in health, safety, and environmental compliance while working alongside our project teams.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the implementation of the Project Specific HSE Plan and safe work practices.
- Perform at least one HSE work site inspection per week and document findings.
- Conduct Task Hazard Analysis (THA) audits and observations.
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment and site safety compliance.
- Help facilitate worker orientations and project training sessions.
- Report safety infractions and assist in documenting corrective measures.
- Investigate and document health, safety, and environmental incidents.
- Attend project meetings and assist with emergency procedure planning.
- Prepare and communicate statistical HSE information to the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety or a related field.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A valid state driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation to and from the project site.

- This position is based in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
- Work is performed on-site at construction locations.
- This is a part-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
