Water/Wastewater Intern - Engineer

About the role#

Sundt Construction is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern to join our team in Denton, Texas. This internship offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on challenging construction projects. We are looking for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the construction industry who are ready to contribute to project success.

What you'll do#

• Assist with project record keeping, cost control records, and time keeping.
• Prepare shop drawings and quantity take-offs.
• Support report preparation, submittal logging, and processing.
• Conduct surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing filing.
• Monitor subcontractors, check schedules, and manage inventory.
• Contact vendors and subcontractors to solicit proposals.
• Participate in site safety inspections and administrative tasks such as attending bid openings and conferences.
• Perform duties as a manual laborer, helper, or technician assistant as needed.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Environmental, or Chemical).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• A curious mindset and a willingness to work in a hands-on environment.
• Ability to comply with all safety standards, including the use of required personal protective equipment such as hardhats, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.
• Capability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, walking, and occasional climbing.
