Water/Waste Water Group Intern - Estimating

About the role#

This internship offers hands-on experience within the Water/Waste Water Group, focusing on the preconstruction phase of projects. You will work alongside Preconstruction and Operations teams to assist in the planning and execution of construction projects, gaining insight into how estimates and bid packages are developed.

What you'll do#

• Support the estimating team by preparing quantity take-offs, developing cost estimates, and creating bid packages.
• Aid in the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential clients.
• Assist in analyzing subcontractor bids and vendor proposals to meet project requirements.
• Attend and contribute to preconstruction meetings, including note-taking and follow-up tasks.
• Organize and maintain project documentation, such as plans, specifications, and addendums.
• Utilize modeling software to develop accurate quantities and support the estimating process.
• Participate in site visits to understand project conditions and requirements.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year degree program in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering, or Business Administration.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• A curious mindset and an eagerness to learn.
• Ability to work as part of a team and take on new challenges.
• Ability to comply with all safety standards and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis.
