Water & Waste Water Intern - Engineer

About the role#

Sundt Construction is seeking a Water & Waste Water Intern to support engineering and construction management projects. This role provides hands-on experience in the construction industry, allowing students to participate in the various activities required to build complex projects. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.

What you'll do#

• Assist with project record keeping, shop drawing preparation, and cost control records.
• Support report preparation, safety inspections, and submittal logging and processing.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and coordinate with vendors and sub-contractors for proposals.
• Assist with surveying, testing, sample collection, drawing correction, and filing.
• Help with inventory control, schedule checking, subcontractor monitoring, and timekeeping.
• Attend bid openings and conferences, take notes, and complete project forms.
• Observe and report on meetings and conduct site tours for visitors.
• Perform tasks as a manual laborer, helper, clerk, or technician assistant as needed.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program (Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• A team-oriented mindset, curiosity, and a willingness to perform hands-on work.
• Ability to comply with all safety standards, including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, hardhats, and safety glasses.
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for the duration of a shift and occasionally lift, push, or pull objects.
