Transportation Intern - Engineer

About the role#

Sundt Construction is seeking a Transportation Intern to support engineering and construction management projects. This role is designed for students interested in a career in construction who are eager to learn, curious, and ready to contribute to active job sites. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position with a rolling term.

What you'll do#

• Assist with project record keeping, cost control records, and time keeping.
• Prepare shop drawings, reports, and quantity take-offs.
• Support submittal logging, processing, and inventory control.
• Assist with surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing corrections.
• Attend bid openings and conferences to take notes and complete forms.
• Call vendors and subcontractors for proposals and monitor subcontractor activity.
• Observe and report on meetings and conduct site tours for visitors.
• Perform various tasks as a manual laborer, helper, or technician assistant.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a four-year Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering program.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• A team-player mindset with a willingness to take on new challenges.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, hardhats, vests, and safety glasses.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for the duration of a shift in a safety-sensitive environment.
