Transportation Group Intern - Engineer

About the role#

Sundt Construction is seeking a Transportation Group Intern to join our team in Vancouver, Washington. This internship offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on challenging construction projects while participating in the day-to-day activities required to build our infrastructure. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.

What you'll do#

• Assist with project record keeping, submittal logging, and processing.
• Prepare shop drawings and quantity take-offs.
• Support cost control records, time keeping, and inventory control.
• Assist with surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing corrections.
• Help with report preparation, safety inspections, and schedule checking.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to gather proposals.
• Monitor subcontractor activities and provide general project assistance.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Electrical Engineering program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• A curious mindset with a willingness to learn and engage in hands-on work.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, hardhats, and safety vests.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks as required by site conditions.
