Transportation Group Intern - Engineer

About the role#

Sundt Construction is seeking a Transportation Group Intern to support engineering and construction projects. This internship offers hands-on experience in the construction industry, providing exposure to the daily activities required to successfully execute large-scale projects. This is a full-time, paid position.

What you'll do#

• Assist with project record keeping, cost control records, and the preparation of shop drawings.
• Support report preparation, safety inspections, and submittal logging and processing.
• Participate in surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing corrections.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and coordinate with vendors and sub-contractors for proposals.
• Attend bid openings and conferences, maintain project records, and assist with inventory and schedule monitoring.
• Perform manual labor or technician assistance tasks as needed.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering or Construction Management program.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• A strong interest in pursuing a career in construction.
• An inquisitive nature, a willingness to learn, and the readiness to perform physical tasks on-site.
• Ability to comply with all safety standards, including the use of required personal protective equipment such as hardhats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
