Intern - Engineer

About the role#

Sundt Construction is seeking engineering and construction management students for an internship program. This role provides exposure to challenging construction projects and offers the opportunity to participate in the various activities required to build and manage large-scale projects.

What you'll do#

• Assist with project record keeping, shop drawings, and cost control records.
• Support report preparation, safety inspections, and submittal logging.
• Participate in surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing filing.
• Monitor schedules, inventory, and subcontractor activities.
• Attend bid openings and conferences to take notes and complete documentation.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and contact vendors for proposals.
• Perform duties as a manual laborer, clerk, or technician assistant as needed.
• Observe and report on meetings and conduct site tours for visitors.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• A team-oriented mindset with a willingness to take on new challenges.
• Strong curiosity and a desire to learn the construction industry from a builder's perspective.
• Ability to work on-site and comply with all safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment such as hardhats, steel-toed shoes, and safety glasses.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, and handle objects throughout a shift.
