Heavy Industrial & Mining Intern - Engineer

About the role#

Sundt Construction is seeking engineering and construction management students for a Heavy Industrial & Mining internship during the Fall 2025 term. This role provides hands-on experience on construction projects, offering exposure to the daily operations and technical requirements of the industry.

What you'll do#

• Assist with project record keeping, shop drawing preparation, and cost control records.
• Support report preparation, safety inspections, and submittal logging.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and contact vendors and subcontractors for proposals.
• Perform tasks as a manual laborer, helper, clerk, or technician assistant as needed.
• Assist with surveying, testing, sample collection, and schedule monitoring.
• Attend bid openings and conferences to document proceedings and complete forms.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering degree program (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Environmental).
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• A high level of curiosity, a willingness to learn, and readiness to perform hands-on work.
• A demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in construction.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all safety standards in a safety-sensitive environment.
