Building Group Intern - Estimating

About the role#

Sundt Construction is seeking students for a Building Group Intern position focused on estimating. This role provides hands-on experience within the preconstruction phase of projects, working alongside our Preconstruction and Operations teams to support project planning and execution.

What you'll do#

• Aid in the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential clients.
• Assist in analyzing subcontractor bids and vendor proposals to ensure they meet project requirements.
• Prepare and assemble bid packages, ensuring all documents and specifications are accurately included.
• Attend and contribute to preconstruction meetings, take notes, and assist with follow-up tasks.
• Organize and maintain project documents, including plans, specifications, and addendums.
• Support the estimating team with quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and bid packages.
• Utilize modeling software, such as Revit or Navisworks, to develop accurate quantities.
• Participate in site visits to better understand project conditions and requirements.
• Collaborate with operational leads and estimators to ensure preconstruction activities are completed on time.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or Architecture program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Immense curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a willingness to ask questions.
• Ability to work as a team player on various challenges.
• Interest in pursuing a construction career.
