Building Group Intern - Estimating

About the role#

Sundt Construction is seeking a Building Group Estimating Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This internship offers hands-on experience in the preconstruction phase of construction projects. You will work alongside our Preconstruction and Operations teams to support the planning and execution of projects while gaining insight into the construction industry.

What you'll do#

• Support the estimating team in preparing quantity take-offs, developing cost estimates, and creating bid packages.
• Assist in analyzing subcontractor bids and vendor proposals to ensure they meet project requirements.
• Aid in the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential clients.
• Utilize modeling software, such as Revit or Navisworks, to develop accurate quantities and support the estimating process.
• Participate in site visits to gain a better understanding of project conditions and requirements.
• Attend and contribute to preconstruction meetings and help maintain project documentation.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or Architecture program.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• A curious mindset with an eagerness to learn and ask questions.
• Ability to work as a team player and handle various project challenges.
