Building Group Intern - Estimating

About the role#

Sundt Construction is seeking students for a Building Group Internship focused on Estimating. This role provides hands-on experience in the preconstruction phase of projects, working alongside our Preconstruction and Operations teams to support project planning and execution.

What you'll do#

• Aid in the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential clients.
• Assist in analyzing subcontractor bids and vendor proposals to ensure they meet project requirements.
• Support the estimating team by preparing quantity take-offs, developing cost estimates, and assembling bid packages.
• Attend and contribute to preconstruction meetings, taking notes and assisting with follow-up tasks.
• Organize and maintain project documents, including plans, specifications, and addendums.
• Utilize modeling software, such as Revit or Navisworks, to develop accurate quantities.
• Participate in site visits to understand project conditions and requirements.
• Collaborate with operational leads and estimators to ensure preconstruction activities are completed on time.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a four-year Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Architecture program.
• Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• A curious mindset with a willingness to learn and ask questions.
• Ability to work as a team player and take on new challenges.
