Building Group Intern - Engineer

About the role#

Sundt Construction is seeking engineering and construction management students for a Building Group Intern - Engineer position. This internship provides hands-on experience on construction projects, allowing students to participate in the daily operations required to build complex projects. This is a paid, full-time opportunity for the Fall 2025 term.

What you'll do#

• Assist with project record keeping, shop drawing preparation, and cost control records.
• Prepare reports, conduct safety inspections, and manage submittal logging and processing.
• Perform quantity take-offs and coordinate with vendors and sub-contractors for proposals.
• Attend bid openings and conferences to take notes, maintain records, and complete forms.
• Support site operations, which may include tasks such as surveying, testing, inventory control, and monitoring subcontractors.
• Work in various capacities including as a manual laborer, clerk, or technician assistant as needed.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering program.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a readiness to perform hands-on work in a construction environment.
• A demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots, hardhats, and safety glasses.
• Ability to comply with all safety standards and procedures in a safety-sensitive environment.
