Advanced Facilities - Intern - Engineer

About the role#

Sundt Construction is seeking engineering and construction management students for an Advanced Facilities Engineering internship. This role provides hands-on experience on complex projects and offers exposure to the various activities required to build and manage construction operations. This is a paid, full-time summer 2026 internship.

What you'll do#

• Assist with project record keeping, shop drawing preparation, and cost control records.
• Support report preparation, safety inspections, and submittal logging.
• Perform surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing corrections.
• Monitor schedules, inventory, and subcontractor performance.
• Attend bid openings and conferences, manage notes, and complete required forms.
• Conduct site tours and report on project meetings.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and solicit proposals from vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist as a technician, clerk, or manual laborer as needed.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Electrical, or Industrial).
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• A strong interest in pursuing a career in construction.
• A team-oriented mindset, curiosity, and a willingness to handle manual tasks.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, hardhats, and safety glasses.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
