About the role#
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to help design, build, and scale the systems that create our robots and data collection devices. You will help transition our manufacturing processes from early prototypes into mass production. This role splits your time equally between engineering tasks and direct production support.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop mechanical jigs and fixtures for robotic and wearable devices.
- Contribute to DFM and DFA efforts to ensure designs scale from low-volume prototypes to high-volume production.
- Work with vendors and suppliers on prototyping, tooling, and production readiness.
- Assist in creating documentation for manufacturing design reviews, process maps, and standard operating procedures.
- Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Conduct time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and improve productivity.
- Evaluate and recommend equipment to support manufacturing goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- Prior experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering through internships or project work.
- Strong skills in CAD software.
- Understanding of DFM and DFA principles.
- Experience working on consumer hardware or robotics.
