About the role#
STV is looking for a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern to join the team for the summer of 2027. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This is a paid, full-time internship based in Austin, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Perform pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
- Develop system curves and perform pump calculations for sizing pumps.
- Assist in the planning and design of water and wastewater pipelines, pumping, storage, and treatment systems.
- Support the design of facilities such as pump stations, lift stations, and treatment plants.
- Prepare design and construction cost estimates under the guidance of senior staff.
- Review construction shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with project documents.
- Visit project sites during design and construction to observe installations.
- Gain exposure to project management, client interactions, and business development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.
- Interest or experience in the design of water and wastewater treatment and pumping facilities.
- Familiarity with modeling, design software, or other production tools.
- Previous experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction management industry.

- Location: Austin, Texas.
- Modality: Hybrid, requiring at least 3 days per week in the office.
- Term: Summer 2027.
