The Education Intern will work within the Learning & Engagement department to gain hands-on experience in museum education. This role focuses on the impact of arts and cultural programming, contributing to the development and implementation of resources that support community learning and leadership. This position is open to undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates in fields such as Art, Art History, Arts Education, or Arts Administration.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, preparation, and delivery of school, family, and teen programs, including Lil’ Studio, Studio Sundays, and Teen Studio.
- Support museum educators during group visits and assist with community programming events across Harlem.
- Conduct research to support departmental priorities and the development of accessible educational tools.
- Participate in team meetings and assist with general departmental tasks.

- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- An ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A strong interest in museum education.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York (On-site).
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 14, 2026 – December 18, 2026).
- Schedule: 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Interns are required to be on-site three days per week, with Tuesdays being mandatory.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship with a stipend of $5,040.
