About the role#
Stripe is hiring interns for the Summer 2027 term to work within our Applied ML, Data Science, Risk, and Payments organizations. You will contribute to projects that improve our product suite, including foundation models used for fraud detection, support, and predicting user behavior. This role involves working on projects like the Stripe Assistant and the Stripe Foundation Model to help businesses interact with financial services and data.
What you'll do#
- Develop and deploy large-scale machine learning systems to drive business value.
- Design, train, improve, and launch machine learning models from end to end.
- Write production-scale models for global economic infrastructure.
- Collaborate across teams to incorporate feedback and solve technical challenges.
- Learn new technologies and approaches while communicating your progress.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of a Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, with an expected graduation in winter 2027 or spring/summer 2028.
- Practical experience with programming and machine learning through projects, research, or classwork.
- Familiarity with Python, Scala, and Spark, along with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
- Expertise in supervised and unsupervised learning, ML operations, and potentially Large Language Models or Reinforcement Learning.
- Ability to work on collaborative projects and integrate feedback from stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to learning unfamiliar systems and understanding complex technical environments.
- Intent to return to your degree program after the internship.
- Preferred: Published peer-reviewed articles, experience with high-quality pull requests, and the ability to manage work across different programming languages.
