About the role#
This is a temporary, full-time internship for the 2027 General Legislative Session. You will support the House Minority Staff Director and members of the minority caucus. This role focuses on digital communications and content creation. Please note that interns do not perform campaign work or raise funds for members of the House of Representatives.
What you'll do#
- Work 40 hours per week during the legislative session, which runs from mid-January through early March 2027.
- Implement media plans, messaging, and issue strategies.
- Create content for social media, the caucus website, and the weekly newsletter.
- Capture and edit high-quality photos and videos of events and legislators.
- Attend committee meetings and hearings to track important issues.
- Analyze media mentions and social media performance.
What you'll need#
- Education or experience in political science, journalism, public relations, or related fields.
- Knowledge of current media production trends and communication practices across visual, oral, and written formats.
- Ability to organize data and information clearly.
- Skills in capturing and editing photo and video content.
- Capacity to support Minority Caucus priorities through digital and print media.

- Location: Capitol Hill, Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Compensation: A $4,000 lump-sum stipend.
