About the role#
Stantec is seeking a Water Co-op Student for a 4-month term starting in September 2026. This full-time, on-site position is based in Ottawa, Ontario, and offers the opportunity to contribute to municipal infrastructure and water resource projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers and designers with research, report writing, and the creation of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for municipal infrastructure.
- Work on projects involving pumping stations, water and wastewater treatment plants, sewers, watermains, and roads.
- Conduct field inspections, surveying, data processing, and modeling.
- Spend time in an office environment working at a desk, as well as perform field work which may involve exposure to inclement weather.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in civil, water resources, environmental, or mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and take direction effectively.
- Coursework or exposure to water/wastewater infrastructure planning, construction management, or environmental treatment processes is preferred.
- Knowledge of provincial and federal regulations, policies, and programs is considered an asset.
