Stantec is seeking a Building Science Intern to join the team in Burnaby for the Fall 2026 term. This role offers hands-on experience working alongside experienced practitioners on building enclosure projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform reviews of project contract drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and material submittals.
- Attend and document pre-construction meetings.
- Conduct periodic site visits and use reporting systems to track and update action items.
- Perform field testing to verify building enclosure performance, including air leakage and water testing.
- Assist with building condition assessments and concrete restoration projects.
- Support small project management and coordination tasks.
- Participate in continuing education and office-related duties.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- General knowledge of Building Science principles or Building Envelope components.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- A valid driver's license.
