About the role#
As an intern on the Water team, you will work in a team environment on infrastructure projects including water and wastewater piping, pump stations, treatment facilities, and stormwater infrastructure. You will gain experience in design and analysis, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stream restoration, natural channel design, water availability modeling, and regional water planning.
What you'll do#
- Assist in project administration by writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals and correspondence, tracking costs, and completing progress reports.
- Support technical staff by researching, compiling, and evaluating project data and performing design calculations.
- Gain exposure to CAD, GIS, and other design programs.
- Perform construction observations and assist with field work as needed.
- Work with engineering modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and InfoWorks ICM.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field.
- Completed coursework in design, construction management, or process and environmental engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.
- A willingness to learn.

- Modality: This is an on-site position. Work is performed in an office environment with potential for field work involving exposure to the elements.
