About the role#
As a Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Intern, you will join a team focused on water infrastructure projects. These include dams, levees, pump stations, treatment facilities, and landfills. This role is for students who want to support local and national projects for clients like municipalities, power utilities, and federal agencies. You will spend time in both the office and the field.
What you'll do#
- Assist with planning and coordinating geotechnical explorations.
- Perform modeling and design tasks for water infrastructure projects.
- Help engineers review boring logs and laboratory data.
- Execute geotechnical analysis and evaluate hazards.
- Perform construction observations and assist with field work.
- Use CAD and other design programs to complete basic tasks.
- Support project administration by writing reports, drafting proposals, and tracking costs.
- Research and evaluate project data for technical staff.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills in verbal and written formats.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and take direction.
- A willingness to learn new skills.
Location & details#
- This position is based in St. Louis, Missouri.
- The role is on-site and full-time for the Summer 2027 term.
- You will work in an office environment but may also perform field work that involves exposure to the elements.
