Bridge/Structural Engineering Intern - Transportation

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity to work as an integral team member on transportation projects under the guidance of a Senior Bridge Engineer. You will gain hands-on experience in bridge and structural engineering while working on projects involving pedestrian, vehicular, and railroad infrastructure.

What you'll do#

• Perform simple engineering calculations and assist with the load rating of structures such as bridges and culverts.
• Create spreadsheets and conduct quantity take-offs.
• Prepare plan sets and perform CAD drafting.
• Participate in field inspection activities and reporting.
• Build familiarity with industry codes, legislation, and professional reference materials.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a college or university program in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, or Architecture.
• A minimum 3.0 GPA, which must be maintained throughout the internship.
• Strong verbal and business writing communication skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
• Willingness to take initiative and flexibility to learn new skills.
• A valid Driver's License and a good driving record.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, or MicroStation is considered a plus.
• Familiarity with PowerPoint or Mathcad is a plus.
