As an Architectural Technologist Summer Student, you will work under the guidance of senior staff to support projects through design development, contract documentation, and construction phases. You will assist in creating architectural sketches, sections, details, and schedules while gaining experience with industry-standard software and project workflows.
What you'll do#
- Assist on projects of small and medium complexity.
- Support building design development by balancing technical requirements, aesthetic goals, budgets, and project programs.
- Develop design concepts through sketches, physical and electronic models, diagrams, and massing studies to communicate intent to clients and project teams.
- Utilize BIM technologies to create three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
- Interpret sketches, drawings, building codes, and programs to support project documentation.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least the first year of a technical diploma in Architectural Technology.
- Ability to sketch and communicate design concepts effectively.
- Knowledge of building construction systems, materials, constructability, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Understanding of the relationship between drawings and specifications.
