About the role#
As a BIM Technician Intern, you will work with mentorship on smaller projects and contribute as a team member on larger assignments under the guidance of a BIM Lead. This role focuses on supporting our buildings projects through technical modeling and documentation.
What you'll do#
- Set up new BIM models and maintain project file structures.
- Work in Revit Structure on 3D projects, including creating views and placing structural geometry.
- Prepare drawing documentation and convert markups into final, ready-to-use work.
- Publish, post, and manage drawing sets while maintaining revisions.
- Create electronic data files that meet specific Stantec and client requirements.
- Assist other staff with Revit issues and mentor design team members on system use.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve BIM production efficiency.
- Attend in-house and external project meetings.
- Participate in training opportunities and firm-wide initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an Architectural or Structural Technology degree, having completed at least junior-level coursework.
- Working knowledge of recent Revit versions and Building Information Modeling.
- Experience with Revit family creation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with design methods used in the architectural and engineering field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A high level of initiative and the ability to multi-task while synthesizing data to produce accurate work.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
