Architecture Student - Buildings

About the role#

Stantec is seeking an Architecture Student for a Summer 2026 internship term. This role offers an opportunity to work within project teams in a design-oriented environment, providing hands-on experience under the guidance of senior designers and architects. You will contribute to a range of tasks including design drawings, research, presentation materials, and technical documentation.

What you'll do#

• Conduct basic interpretations of sketches, drawings, building codes, and project programs.
• Support the project team in the development of design documentation.
• Assist in design development through sketches, physical and electronic models, diagrams, and massing studies.
• Utilize BIM technologies to develop three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
• Conduct research on design concepts, benchmarks, materials, typology, and precedents.

What you'll need#

• Currently working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
• Ability to hand sketch and communicate concepts effectively.
• Basic understanding of Revit, AutoCAD, and/or SketchUp as design tools.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Submission of a project portfolio (PDF or online link) is required for review.

• Location: Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada.
• Term: Summer 2026 (4 to 18-month term).
